copy of an email for the campsite....comments please
below is a copy of an email I got from the folks at the campsite I was thinking we'd go to. Are people still into this? It is not far from the water...I dont think it makes a big difference...but thought I would put it out there. I am still going. Please let me know if you are so I can make reservations.
Hi Kate,
The fee to camp at Bere point is $10 a day and a reservation is strongly suggested. There are sites available for the days you wish to camp but they are in the back in our new sites in the trees. There are no water sites available for those dates. If you wish to make a reservation, there is a $10. non-refundable reservation fee in order to guarantee you a site or you can just take your chances & show up at the park and go from there. You can call our office @ 956-3301 if you would like to make a reservation.
Any questions, please give me a call or send me an e-mail.
Thank you
Robyn

okay i'm in! and i'm excited!
now for some details:
-i am happy to leave on the 28th or 29th and stay until around the 5th(?)
-i have access to either 2 small 2-person tents or one 3 to 4-person tent, easily accommodating 2 adults (Kate and me) and pooch
-how long's the journey, Kate? i am curious to know if this is a long day trip or best split into two?
-we can discuss food once we have confirmations

hey kate et al,
not sure if you went ahead with the campsite reservations or not --- jodi and i are definitely in!! i also took a look at the bc ferries reservations, there are still spots on the last ferry out from nanaimo on monday, aug 1. leaving at 9:25 p.m. [altho, this is on the deathtrap ferry which recently suffered a powerloss and rammed into the dock---brace yourselves] otherwise the aft. ferries are all booked up!!
i'll volunteer jodi and i for cooking sat.nite dinner, how many people are we now?
and if anyone is interested in doing some kayaking on the sunday??, i'm trying to sort out if there is an outfitter on malcolm island that we can rent from....is anyone interested?
otherwise, i've been busy doing an in-depth historical analysis of the settlement of sointula. i will be able to regale you with numerous tidbits of superfluous knowledge regarding the particulars of finnish-style communism. oh yes, you'll be glad to have me along....;o)
cheers,
deanna
